Rivers state Governor – Nyesom Wike has restated that only council chairmen with evidence of projects in their area will be reconsidered for a second tenure in the April local government election.
Governor Wike during the commissioning of the Bolo internal roads in Ogu Bolo Local Government Area, said most of the council chairmen have abandoned their responsibilities for the state government.
He also explained that the party will not allow nepotism and Godfatherism in the selection of candidates for the election.
“There is nothing like governor’s boys. If I have before, I have returned them,” he said.
He also stated that he will not endorse any candidate as Local Government Chairman.
“The time of I went to the same school with the governor is over,” Wike noted.
Would this create a level playing field for aspirants in Rivers State?
