For years it has been mentioned, reported and recorded that Northern Nigeria has the most population in Nigeria.
After a few travels to the North, a Nigeria man has come out to claim that the North does not have the numbers they are claiming.
One Mr.Chuka (@MrAdeBond) took to his twitter page to reveal that the figures for the northern states in Nigeria is a scam, as he noticed that there were no desne population even in the so called big cities when he toured the Northern states.
He believed that what he saw was definitely not the numbers called for the population of the north.
His tweets reads:
“I did a tour of the North Central and North Eastern states in Nigeria last year. I went to Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Jigawa, Gombe, Bornu, Adamawa etc and one question I kept asking was ‘where are the people’?
Northern Nigeria does not have the numbers they are claiming.”
Most of his followers were in agreement with him, as they also believed that there is some fraudulent activity going on in the National Population Commission (NPC) data which on the surface looks legitimate but is greatly skewed in favour of the Northern Region (North East North West and North central) in order to keep the north in the helms of affairs in the country.
These are some of the tweets we picked:
The larger population of the North is an elephant in the Nigerian living-room. According to the last disputed census of 2006, there are 75 million Nigerians living in the North and 65 million in the South.
As long as we continue to entertain such outright falsehood, we shall continue to be subjected to a “born to rule” mentality on the part of some mischievous Northern politicians.
