The famous Obunku-Ugbo Nwatam on Saturday, 2nd of January 2021 appeared as usual to trill the crowd with much enthusiasm and excitement.
Despite the high wave of Coronavirus and its scar, the people of Obunku, neighboring villages and lovers were all fully prepared for the festival as they tropped out massively to grace the occasion.
“Nwatam” is an annual cultural festival of the people of Obunku-Ugbo Ndoki, aimed at preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the people of Ukwa East ethnic nationality in Abia state.










This great event originated in 1960 to mark the end of the year and beginning of a new year, the major reason it is always celebrated every 2nd January.
