This was revealed by the minister of humanitarian affairs, disaster management and social development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, The Cable reports.
Farouq made this known while she addressed lawmakers in the National Assembly on budget performance.
She noted that the ministry distributed not less than 70,000 tons of grains from the national grain centre by President Muhammadu Buhari to all states, adding that the share of Rivers, though still not received, is waiting for collection.
Added to this, the minister claimed that the ministry got foodstuff from the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) to be sent to all 36 governors for distribution to vulnerable persons in their states.
“We distributed these palliatives to all the states. We have given out 70,000 tons of grains from the national grain centre by Mr. President. In FCT, we handed over the palliatives to the two ministers of FCT for distribution to the poor. It is only Rivers state that has not collected their own share. It is still there waiting for them.”
