PHED noted that the new plan is in accordance with the directive of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory commission (NERC), arising from an extraordinary tariff review.
The timing of the implementation is to cushion the effect of exogenous variables outside the control of the service provider in the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry.
For clarity purposes, under the new tariff review, customers’ bill will be based on hours of availability in each category.
Also, the new review will completely eradicate mountains of customer complaints arising from hours of supply disagreement.
The Service Reflective Tariff is shown below:
I. Service Band A customers who enjoy 20 hours minimum and above
2. Service Band B customen who will be experiencing 16 hours minimum and above supply
3. Service Band C customers who will be enjoying 12 hours minimum and above supply
4. Service Band D customers who will be on 8 hours minimum and above supply
5. Service Band E customers who will be on a minimum of 4 hours supply
*Note: Bands D and E are not affected by this minor review.
The actual tariff categories is available on the PHED website, fliers, social media handles and offices in their franchise area.
