So while I was having a time online, twitter precisely, searching for a particular material on sports, i came across this particular tweet that reads – Conference on Women Empowerment in Pakistan, but the women have to stay at home.
I took another look at the tweet, to be sure my eyes were not confusing my head and then I saw the banner with an inscription – women empowerment and Pakistan with over 8 men on high table.
Lol, as funny as it may seem, the last time I checked, we are in a world where gender equality is gradually gaining grounds and then this pops up from nowhere like champagne.
How can you be empowering women and no single woman or lady on sight or anywhere close to the high table, no woman leader or even a female usher dispatching drinks or water to the men?
Of course, the women were all instructed to take sit at home, take a bottle of red wine, relax in a bathtub and watch on DSTV obviously, how the 8 men on high table and over 200 other men in attendance will empowered them.
Well, I hope am not getting the wrong signal from the photo but am way too sure my antena is strong on the mask to know that am suppose to picture at least a woman or a lady on the high table with the men if you are to discuss any issue relating to “Women empowerment”.
Anyway, am not alone on this, so here is collection of reaction from different individuals on twitter tongue lashing over the photo as well.
