Spanish giants, Real Madrid are going to have a female football club starting from the next footballing season.
The club announced on its official website that their board of directors resolved today, during their meeting to start a female club from first of July 2020.
Real Madrid President, Florentino Perez was reported to have paid €500,000 to buy the just promoted female Madrid side, C. D Tacon, which will morph into Real Madrid’s female team by 2020.
This piece of news will be celebrated around Spain and Europe at large, as a lot of people had been calling on the President to embrace female football and invest in them just like he does with the male counterparts.
• Few month’s back, Barcelona’s vice President, Jordi Mestre had called on Real Madrid to set up a female side, so as to garner more interest in the women’s game.
There are many teams in LaLiga [Santander]that have a women’s side. A Clasico would surely generate a lot more interest as well. I think it’d be an immense attraction for women’s football, but each club has their own projects and their own strategies.

With the acquisition of C.D Tacon, the promoted side will use Real Madrid’s training facilities and stadia for the upcoming 2019/2020 season — as big changes are expected in the club in the next one year, with galactica signings that will turn the club into a world beater, as well as change of name and coaching staff.
Florentino Perez had promised few years back in an interview, that if he was to set up a female football club, it would not be a mediocre team or a female team to complete numbers, but one that will be held in high regards.
It is expected that in years to come, the female Real Madrid team will give the likes of Barcelona and Atletico’s female sides a run for their money.
