In the verge of getting the Top Restaurants in Port Harcourt, Food Hub Nig visited Mandi Foods (@mandi_foods) and it’s a really nice space convenient for kids, family or friends.
There isn’t much of a parking space so you’d have to consider that when heading there.
Let’s get down to the meal proper, we ordered for Peppered leaf Rice (Which is Ofada rice, Plantain and Sauce), Amala and Ewedu, Poundo yam and Banga soup.
We were notified it’d take approximately 30mins to get our meals ready, at 24mins they started coming in (yes I set a stopwatch) of which I commend them on that because I dislike long service time.
The presentation was detailed and I particularly like the way the rice sat majestically on the leaf.
The dishes wasn’t lacking proteins as it came with snail, catfish, shaki or towel (whichever you call it), intestine (roundabout), beef, kpomo etc.
The Prawns were really juicy but the shaki and roundabout were both not properly cooked.
From meals we had I’d say the banga soup was my favorite, it’s been a while I had banga soup that’s good from anywhere in Port Harcourt.
The swallow didn’t match the soup cause it was really much and even after we were done with the swallow we had to take the remaining soup packaged back home.
We expected just our orders but M and I Foods surprised us with a three course meal in a one course meal order.
First course: Complimentary peppersoup as an appetizer
Second course: Your order as the main dish
Third course: Fruits for dessert.
We were told by some customers present that’s customary for mandi foods.
In conclusion I’d say the meals were totally worth the prices they go for because it was a lot and I’d recommend it for you guys to visit especially if you like local dishes and have a flare for art/wooden designs.
Did you guys also know it’s M and I Foods not Mandi Foods which stands for Mazoo and Idele? They are both owners of the restaurant.
M and I opened sometime in June 2018.
