Hey guys!! It’s another day with the review of the Mercy and Ike show. Let’s get into somethings!!!
Okurrrrrr!!! This episode gave me pepper, I don’t even know where to start, Twitter burned down after this episode.
Okay let’s start from the very first scene Ike facetime’s Mercy, and they discussed the situation they were in (apparently Ike fans were going at Mercy for posting a picture of herself with Wille).
In tears and head on the pillow soaking it up, It was clear she took the words from Ike’s fans to heart and felt bullied online. Fighting back tears she tried explaining to Ike how she was feeling and how she could not understand the situation; almost defending her actions but not in a narcissistic way. she thought about di-activating her social media accounts; “I’m confused as hell” she said. Now that might be taking too far girl. Any true fan like myself felts her pain and distraught but deleting your social media accounts might be one step over the ledge.
Ike did his best to calm her down but made his point about having some doubts about the photos. “I never thought i would see something like this”, he said. Many anticipated Ike being made and rightly so but it turned out to be the opposite. “Don’t take it too seriously” he told his Bae. I understand the fans, they probably thought Mercy was playing their fave but still they were being so toxic towards her. Obviously if the shoe was on the other foot i would be on the bandwagon social media streets raining swears at Ike lol.
Then there was that one scene when Ike’s cousin, Pascal who was on facetime with him. They talked about Mercy’s so called little scandal and Pascal, was also trying to hook Ike up with some rich women in lekki (Drama!!!) But Ike did say that he respects his relationship with Mercy more than he respects money. I get that the cousin was looking out for his family, I mean we all do that for our loved ones but I didn’t like that he called Mercy the B-word.
There were a lot of scenes in this episode that involved Ike going to Mercy’s house, talking about Mercy’s trip to London, while Promise (Mery’s sister) after stating “Mercy is the queen of highlights and she has to keep giving it to them back to back if she is to be relevant” during her interview; she also kept re-assuring Ike of her sister’s love and loyalty to him, she kept telling him that there was nothing to worry about. Peacemaker.
Cutting back to the scene, Mercy finally gets back from her trip but was met with her sister’s complaint of getting calls from Ike’s aunt who was not happy about her London adventures, Mercy who was visibly upset queried their motives and asked if she was married to Ike and also that statement made by Promise about Mercy being the queen of highlights, Mercy was quick to add to the statement what could only be described as a gentle but yet firm rebuke, she stressed the fact that she has friends and can associate with anyone she wants to and must not be limited because she is in a relationship. Then she pulled the trigger with this boom-shell comment “They don’t own me, if you want to own me then go ask my father how much is my bride price”
This show is really lit and this episode was magic, we got to see the chilled supportive Ike, the emotional Mercy and the surrounding family support coming to their rescue again to put out the drama fire. It only gets better and more interesting with every episode; For me this episode is a 10/10 I really enjoyed it.
Coming up next week: Mercy and Ike were seen in an argument, after which Mercy threatened to smash Ike’ car (don’t miss it next week).
