In a heartwarming and selfless gesture, Ambassador Desmond Akawor, the Chairman of the Rivers State People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has dedicated a newly built church to the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry in Egberu Ndoki, Oyigbo LGA, Hitvibz.com reports
According to elanhub.net, this act of devotion and generosity was not only a symbol of his deep faith but also a means of giving back to a church that had positively transformed his life and that of his family.
Ambassador Akawor shared his journey of faith, recounting how his life took a positive turn when he first attended The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry in 2008 while serving as Nigeria’s Ambassador to South Korea.
The profound impact of the church’s teachings resonated with him, his wife, and children, leading them to become devoted members of the congregation.
As a result of his newfound faith, Ambassador Akawor experienced a remarkable transformation in his life, with blessings pouring in abundantly.
To express his gratitude to God and the church that had played a pivotal role in shaping his life, he made the decision to build and donate a parish to The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry in his village.
This parish would serve as a vehicle for spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ, aimed at bringing more souls into the kingdom of God.
The Ambassador emphasized the central role of God in his family, career, and life. He reinstated the practice of “One Hour With Jesus” at the State Secretariat of the PDP in Rivers State, where he serves as Chairman.
Through this tradition, he attributed the party’s seamless victories in times of crisis or elections to the divine protection and guidance they received.
Ambassador Akawor stressed the importance of faith, saying, “While others have guns, I have God, and that is more important.”
The founder and General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministry, through his representative, Pastor Amaechi Agbakoba, highlighted the significance of partnering with God, stating that it is the most profound sacrifice one can make in the service of the Almighty.
Prayers were offered for Ambassador Akawor’s family, asking for more blessings and an increase in their dedication to God’s work.
Pastor Agbakoba encouraged all those in attendance to draw inspiration from Ambassador Desmond Akawor’s actions and remember to include God in all aspects of their lives, regardless of their societal status.
The event garnered praise from various dignitaries, including Senator Barry Barinada Mpigi, who commended Ambassador Desmond Akawor for his valuable contribution to the body of Christ.
As a result, Senator Mpigi, alongside other political figures such as Rt. Hon. Prince Felix Nwaeke, Rt. Hon. Ehie Edison, Dr. Benibo George, and Hon. Allwell Ihunda, pledged a generous donation to support the church’s mission in the region.
