Premier League side – Liverpool are the 2019 FIFA Club World Cup winners after beating Flamengo 1-0 to lift the trophy at the Khalifa International Stadium, thanks to extra time goal from Roberto Firmino.
After 90 minutes of game play, the Club World Cup final went straight to extra-time as both teams failed to find a breakthrough.
They both created some good chances in the second half, but Liverpool had the best chance to win it.
Mane was brought down in the box in stoppage time and the referee originally awarded a penalty, but after a long VAR check, it was judged that the contact wasn’t in the box and that the tackle had been fair, so they didn’t even win a free-kick.
But 99 on the clock, the deadlock was broken. Firmino kept his cool head as he cuts back inside to get away from Caio and fire the ball into the empty net and away from the sliding in Rafinha.
The victory sees Liverpool win their second trophy of the season, adding to their Super Cup win over Chelsea in September.
