The senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on Sunday visited the former military President, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida.
The meeting took place at the Hilltop residence of the former military ruler, in Niger State.
Mr Saraki, obviously came to discuss his presidential ambition and plans to grow Nigeria with Babangida and also seek his support.
He later met with delegates and executives of People’s Democratic Party (PDP). There, he reiterated his determination to grow Nigeria out of poverty, stimulate the growth of SMEs, create wealth and opportunities for all Nigerians.
According to him;
“With rampant unemployment and insecurity across the nation, I made it clear to our party members that right now, it is no longer an issue of how we got here, but how do we get out of this situation. I have what it takes to secure inclusive growth for all Nigerians and will work to make our country safer by redesigning our national security architecture, while adequately empowering our security agencies to protect all lives and property.”
The Senate President noted on his twitter handle;
“Before my meeting with PDP delegates and party executives from Niger State, I paid my respects to General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida at his home in Minna.”
It could be Recalled that the presidential aspirant visited IBB earlier in August and refused to speak on his presidential ambition with journalists. Saraki rather dropped some hints on his tweeter account on why he visited IBB, saying;
”I dropped in to pay my respects to General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida. Always happy to be with a father and leader.”
