The former Arsenal man helped his side secure a 4-2 victory over Lincoln City during their EFL Cup [Carabao Cup] clash at Sincil Bank.
Both sides went into first half break with the game tied at 1-1, the away side burst out in the second period and took the lead through Sigurdsson’s penalty. They were momentarily stunned by Andrade’s thumping equaliser, however, the gulf between the sides eventually told, with late Iwobi and Richarlison goals helping Everton squeeze into the next round.
It all seems like the Premier League side was about losing it against the League One team, with a 2-2 tie before Richarlison purposely drives down the right flank and stands a cross up to the back post in 81st minute. Tosun meets it and selflessly nods the ball across the face of goal, where Iwobi was on hand to head the ball past Smith’s despairing dive and give Everton a 3-2 lead.
7 minutes later Lucas Digne toys with Lewis down the left flank and he swings a cross towards the penalty spot, where Richarlison drifts in to power a header past Smith to secure a 4-2 victory for Everton.
