Brazil were the favourites to win the competition this summer and were looking to make a statement after Germany’s defeat earlier today but were held to a 1-1 draw by Switzerland at the Rostov Arena on Sunday.

Coutinho broke the heart of Switzerland just 20 minutes into the game with a simply sensational shot. After collecting possession on the edge of the box, the former Liverpool man opened up his body and curled the ball into the far corner. Sommer had no chance and that was breathtaking.

But parity was restored, 50 minutes on as Shaqiri fired in a powerful cross and Brazil fell asleep inside the six-yard box. Zuber couldnt believe his luck as he was left unmarked and he powers home a header from close range. Alisson left helpless.

Both sides battled it out in the World Cup for the first time since 1950, Switzerland travelled to Brazil on that occasion with the game ending 2-2.
