Manchester United’s winger, Jesse Lingard has revealed why the red devils are performing better now than they did under former coach, Jose Mourinho.

After the sacking of Jose, The United board brought in club legend, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to handle affairs of things at the Theater of Dreams on interim bases. And since his appointment, Manchester United has played 10 games, winning nine of them, and one draw. Thereby remaining unbeaten in fixtures that included Tottenham and Arsenal.
Jesse lingard in an interview with Daily Mail, credited the recent performances to the fact that Soljskjaer and his assistant, Mike Philan knows the club inside out. He lauded the new management for bringing the old school Manchester United back to play.
It will be recalled that the ex manager, Jose Mourinho was infamous for his “negative style of play” which was too defensive, uninspiring and uinteresting. This obviously could be the reason for poor performances of star players of the club and the unending clashes he had with players like Paul Pogba. All these and more, were the reasons for his axing after United lost 3-1 to Liverpool in December (the last straw).

The 26 year old English winger believes Solskjaer has changed all that by bringing a breathe of fresh air to the club and locker room.
Lingard is quoted as saying :
They know the league and the club inside out, so to pass that on and get us playing how we are has been perfect. Solskjaer is doing very well. Nobody can fault him. He has taken a lot on, but he already knew what he was doing when he came in. He got the players backing him straight away. He told us there are big expectations and pressure at this club, but we have to deal with it and play like a real United team. We will challenge for the title next season if we carry on how we are now. We’re back to basics and winning games by grinding out results or scoring a lot of goals. As long as we’re winning games, that’s all that matters.
Seeing as there’s now a clear change in style of play– star players like Pogba, Lukaku, Rashford, Martial and Sanchez gradually regaining their form– United faithfuls and players (as Lingard has hinted) will be hoping Soljskjaer is retained on permanent bases at the end of the season.
Manchester United, who are now fifth on the Premiere League table, will be hosted by Fulham in Saturday’s early kickoff match-up. The red devils are two points adrift Chelsea, who are fourth on the log and will be hosted table toppers, Manchester City.
