Three Africans, Naby Keita, Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah were all target for Jurgen Klopp’s side as they secured a 5-0 win over relegation battling side, Huddersfield Town during their Premier League clash on Friday night at Anfield.
The Reds are back to top of the League table with just two points ahead of Manchester City.
Just 15 seconds into kick off, the Reds took the lead. Keita nicked the ball away from Stankovic and takes Salah’s pass in his stride before beating Lossl low to the goalkeeper’s right.
22 minutes later, Mane doubled the lead for the home side. Van Dijk moved forward with the ball, before driving the ball left to Robertson, whose superb cross was nodded in by the diminutive Senegal winger.
At the stroke of half time, Salah scored to make it 3-0 for Liverpool thanks to Alexander-Arnold, who spotted the attacker’s darting run into the box and the Egyptian lifted a deft finish over the onrushing Lossl.
66 minutes on, Mane scored to double his tally and make the scoreline 4-0. The 27-year-old joined Salah on 20 top-flight goals for the season with a second header as he nods Henderson’s ball into the box back across Lossl.
Salah grabbed a second 83 minutes on the clock to give the Reds a 5-0 lead. The forward gifted the simplest of finishes from Robertson’s measured pass in from the left side.
A comfortable and well deserved victory for the Reds as they secure all 3 points and the top spot.
