Popular Nigerian musician, Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, has cried out to Nigerians not to act reckless like South Africans to destroy properties but rather send their franchises such as MTN, DSTV and Shoprite out of the country.
Tuface made the call on his official twitter handle while reacting to the recent killings of Nigerians, looting and burning down their businesses in South African.
The recent attacks started after it was alleged that some Nigerian drug dealers killed a taxi driver in Perotia, after he tried to stop them from selling drugs to a young South African.
The African Queen crooner through his official Twitter handle – @Official2baba noted that there is need to not destroy any property but rather, Nigeria should replace South African brands with Nigerian brands.
His tweet reads:
Pls lets not destory property. Make we no mumu like then. Let just send the franchise out. Repalce MTN Glo, replace shopprite with abeano, Dstv with HITV. Not destroying property
And of course, Nigerians took turn to react to this saying;
Obviously, destroying properties does not only sound foolish but also the unwise thing to do.
This is actually an opportunity that can be used to promote Nigerian brands over South Africa. The Nigerian products might not be as good as that of the South Africans but if we keep patronizing them, I am sure they will improve in their product quality.
Apart from seizing the opportunity to promoting Nigeria products, a statement needs to be made to South Africa showing the lack of tolerance for their lack of respect for Nigerian citizen and especially for human life.
