• Gonçalo Guedes and Ezequel Garay were on the scoresheet for Valencia, with the goals coming from each half of the midweek Laliga match.

Real Madrid came into the matchday 29 matchup with a track record of just two losses in their last 19 Laliga games against Valencia (11 wins and 6 draws). However, it was Valencia that showed superiority when the game kicked off.
Los Che rightlfully took the lead after 35 minutes of play. The goal came after Valencia’s corner kick was punched out by Keylor Navas, the ball landed on Guedes, who exchanged passes with Soler before curling the ball down-right, past Navas in goal.
Real Madrid had no meaningful goal threat in the first half to get an equalizer.
Soler had a big opportunity to give Valencia a second goal in the 54th minute but his late decision making affected his final touch with Keylor Navas closing down well enough to make a crucial save.
Valencia continued to pose major threats to Real, in a bid to get a reassuring second goal. Kevin Gamiero wasted a superb counter attack orchestrated by Marcelino’s side in the 75th minute.
With Seven minutes of regulation time left to play, the second goal of the match eventually came. Former Real Madrid man, Ezequel Garay caught Casemiro napping during a corner kick and the Argentine did well to head home Valencia’s second goal.
Madrid’s top scorer, Karim Benzema pulled one back for Los Blancos in extra time, but it came a little too late as Garay’s goal proved to be worth 3 points for Valencia.
