It is indeed a long season ahead, but we don ready to make sure sey you enjoy am, and na why we go dey do this thing every weekend.
This week, the big game na for Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea and Arsenal go kill themselves, but that game no be the only London derby this week, as e get another wan wey dey happen for that fine stadium, Wembley.
That said, weytin go happen this week sha? Neelie and Jibsman go talk weytin dem think about the matches before dem go predict the likely results to see who wins this week’s maximum points of 40.
Cardiff City vs Newcastle United
This game sees two teams wey draw their first games and e sure me die sey both of the will be hoping and playing to win. But i believe that Newcastle will be too strong for the promoted side, so I dey see a Newcastle win here.
Neelie’s Verdict: CAR 1-2 NEW
Cardiff wey be newcomers go try prove to Newcastle say dem sabi, but I expect Newcastle to win the tie. Kennedy with Matt Richie go be like hot iron, too hot to handle.
Jibs’ Verdict: Cardiff 0 – 2 Newcastle
Everton vs Southampton
The Toffees and Saints drew their opening games, and I expect another draw soup when dem face each other for Goodison Park.
Neelie’s Verdict: EVE 1-1 SOU
The toffees are at home and would be wondering what might have been had they ended the game with 11 men, the Saints wey struggle for dem own backyard go face another team for house. Na beating go end am.
Jibs’: EVE 2 – 1 SOU
Leicester City vs Wolves
Wolves have the upper hand in this tie, but for this one, for King Power, na lost battle for dem especially with Jamie Vardy set to return to the home side’s first eleven. Straight win for the Foxes here.
Neelie’s Verdict: LEI 2-0 Wolves
Leicester for draw united if to say them sabi finish… Na house dem dey, so dem no go lose.
Jibs’ Verdict: LEI 1 – 1 Wolves
Tottenham vs Fulham
This na one of the two London derbies this weekend, but for me it is a very clear win for the hosts. Fulham don lose already this season, and for their last three games against Spurs, dem don lose and I do not see that about to change even though dem spend over 100m.
Neelie’s Verdict: Spurs 2-0 Fulham
This one na London Derby, but Tottenham get power pass.
Jibs’ Verdict: Spur 2 – 0 Fulham
West Ham Utd vs B’Mouth
This one na one game wey goals dey always dey, and na so e come be when dem meet again, the Hammers spend better money under their new manager, Manuel Pellegrini, but after that akpako wey Liverpool knack dem, they will want to bounce back.
Dem dey home, so, I go favor dem small but the Cherries no be easy meat sha.
Neelie’s Verdict: WHU 3-2 BOU
West Ham go try bounce back at home against Bournemouth, Bournemouth get confidence from the last game. It should end square.
Jibs’ Verdict: WHU 1 – 1 BOU
Chelsea vs Arsenal
Easily the biggest game of the weekend, two enemies wey no dey use eye see each go fight for Stamford Bridge. Last time wey Chelsea beat Arsenal na 2017, and since then, the Gunners have gone five game without losing to the Blues.
Four of those games na better okro soup, and me I dey expect ogbono this time, even though either sides get new manager.
Neelie’s Verdict: CHE 1-1 ARS
Chelsea would love to put one over arsenal since they have only won 1 out of the last 8 against the gunners. This would be the right time for it, arsenal still de find their square root.
Jibs’ Verdict: CHE 2-1 ARS
Burnley vs Watford
This game tough to call sha, I mean, na Turf Moor and e dey really Turf for teams there, but maybe Watford fit manage get draw, even though as I dey look the Clarets so, dem fit tiff a narrow win.
Neelie’s Verdict: BUR 1-0 WAT
Burnley didn’t take long to get a clean sheet this season, on the road too. Shouldn’t be hard to achieve at home, but European commitments could affect them.
Jibs’ Verdict: BUR 1- 1WAT
Manchester City vs Huddersfield Town
Make I talk true, I no go like wish sey na my team dey face the champions. Na only miracle Huddersfield go take survive Etihad, even as City don lose Kevin de Bruyne.
Neelie’s Verdict: MCI 3-0 HUD
City go try match Chelsea or do better v Huddersfield, na sure win.
Jibs’ Verdict: MCI 3 – 0 HUD
Brighton & Hove Albion vs Manchester United
Last time United were at Brighton, na better shock di home side shock dem, as they lost 2-1. But can Brighton repeat the feat? Na only person wey get strong mind fit sey yes, but for me, I see United avenging that result.
Neelie’s Verdict: BHA 1-2 MUN
Brighton get defensive solidity for house, dem fit capitalize on dressing room issues at Manchester to win this one.
Jibs’ Verdict: BHA 1 – 0 MUN
Crystal Palace vs Liverpool
There is no better game to end week two in the PL than this, and all I can say is, expect goals, goals and more goals.
Neelie’s Verdict: CRY 1- 3 LIV
I de smell goal galore. Zaha go try something on counter, palace get weytin to hurt Liverpool on the counter.
Jibs’ Verdict: CRY 2 – 3 LIV
