It is the first Friday edition on Vibs Predict for the season as Old Trafford gets ready to spice up the weekend with that battle between José Mourinho and Rafa Benitez at Old Trafford.

Later tonight, Brighton & Hove Albion will get things started against a resurgent West Ham United side, but the biggest game of the round is that Super Sunday clash at Anfield.

League leaders, Liverpool host defending champions, Manchester City, with Chelsea hoping to capitalise on any slipups from either side when they march out against the Saints also on Sunday.

But before we tok about those games eh, make we update una wetin happen last week for game week seven (7) fight between our football experts for here, Jibsman and Neelie.

E be like sey Jibs don dey find form o! My guy make another perfect prediction last week, and na that Bournemouth 2-1 home win against Crystal Palace. After three consecutive weeks without a perfect prediction, e don bounce back sha with back-to-back perfect ones.

But Neelie still no wan gree. Since Jibs dey find form, na so guyman use vex become the first person to get three perfect predictions in a single game week. He predicted two perfect wins, Bournemouth and Tottenham, and the exciting 1-1 draw between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

It was a close encounter between the two sha, Jibs added eight (8) correct outcomes for a total for 12points, while four extra correct ones gave Neelie 16points.

Overall, Neelie takes his points haul to 68, while Jibsman’s 39points leave am 29points behind.

Can Jibsman make up most of that deficit in GW8? Well, na wetin we wan find out now. So, join us mek we drop our predictions for this week.

Let’s Vib into it!!

Neelie’s Verdict:
Since Brighton knack Manchester United better akpako for August, dem never win one match, and against West Ham wey don dey find form – scoring 11times in their last two games, na serious gbege dey for the hosts.

But for this particular fixture, the Seagulls seem to have a huge say having won all their top flight encounters against the Hammers. This makes things really interesting but i think I go still go for a West Ham win.

Result: BHA 1-2 WHU

Jibs’ Verdict:
Brighton have carried their poor home form from late last season into the new season having won only against Manchester United there in a long time. They play against a resurgent West Ham side who found their mojo already. I expect the poor form to continue

Result; BHA 0-2 WHU

Neelie’s Verdict:
It has been very difficult for me getting it right with the Clarets games this campaign, but who will blame me? They are not the Burnley one has come to know, though they were brilliant last time out, putting four goals past Bournemouth.

In Huddersfield, they welcome a side without a PL win this season. These two played out two goalless draws last season and it is tempting to say another draw soup dey smell for here.

Result: BUR 2-0 HUD

Jibs’ Verdict:
Since them Burnley comot for Europa League, Sean Dyche don concentrate and results have had a positive boost. They host Huddersfield who are winless so far, and with their current relegation friendly form, it will be hard for them not to return empty handed from turf moor.

Result: BUR 2-0 HUD

Neelie’s Verdict:
This game at Selhurst Park will be quite an interesting one as Crystal Palace welcome my team, Wolverhampton Wanderers. It is the second time both will meet in the English top flight, and e sure me die sey na knockout go full the di game.

I don dey praise Wolves since and I go continue to praise dem because dem don impress me wella. For this game, I don’t see them leaving without at least a point, which says more about them than Palace. Wolves are tight at the back, whether you have Wilfred Zaha on your side or not.

Result: CRY 0-1 WOL

Jibs’ Verdict
Two teams that play alike, dem fit cancel each other with their style sha.

Result: CRY 1-1 WOL

Neelie’s Verdict:
Our Naija brothers, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, go host Everton for King Power stadium. Honestly eh, after all the money dem spend, this Everton side never impress me at all. So, i do not see them surviving trio of Iheanacho, James Maddison and Jamie Vardy away from home.

Result: LEI 2-0 EVE

Jibs’ Verdict
Leicester City go one win for house, but Everton will look to build on the resounding victory over Fulham. Na draw go end am last last. 😂

Result: LEI 2-2 EVE

Neelie’s Verdict:
Spurs were totally outclassed by a Lionel Messi led Barcelona side in midweek in the UEFA Champions League and will be looking to immediately bounce back when they host Cardiff City at the same venue on Saturday.

Cardiff are one of three teams without a PL win this season and at Wembley, na only miracle go fit make dem comot there with anything fewer than two goals.

Result: TOT 2-0 CAR

Jibs’ Verdict:
Messi no show them mercy, Kane self go touch Cardiff and make them cry. It’s a case of how many will Cardiff concede? Kane is finding form and another penalty might be converted.

Result: TOT 2-0 CAR

Neelie’s Verdict
After a blistering start to the season, which saw them win their first five games in all competitions, things don come go south for Watford o. Now, na four games without a win, with two defeats.

This weekend, they host Bournemouth, who are right now in better form than the Hornets. This game has the makings of a well prepped ogbono soup, and I feel sey na so e go be, with better stockfish and azu ndu.

Result: WAT 1-1 BOU

Jibs’ Verdict:
Watford don cast, e av tay since they last won a game after starting the season with an unbeaten record. Bournemouth fresh off their win v palace will still not win at vicarage road ☺

Result: WAT 2-1 BOU

Neelie’s Verdict
Look away Manchester United fans, for this game dey as confusing to call as una team dey play. See eh, na only God fit help United sha, as nobody know wetin dey happen for that Theatre of Draws.

The difference between the Red Devils and their visitors on Saturday is that the Magpies dey even beg for draw but e no dey come, with six losses and a draw in their seven games so far.

At OT, I dey expect United to make dem look like peak Barcelona, but bad as e bad, if José Mourinho side no win this game, make i see why Ed Woodward go still leave am as United manager.

Result: MUN 2-0 NEW

Jibs’ Verdict
Derby of the 20th century pragmatists… Who get the bus wey big pass, na mourinho sha. This ends in a win for the red devils, as the toons continue their awful streak.

Result: MUN 1-0 NEW

Neelie’s Verdict:
This a derby game and while we know things can go wrong in them, Arsenal are flying under new manager, Unai Emery. Their 3-0 thrashing of Qarabag FK on Thursday made it eight (8) consecutive wins in all competitions and their hosts, Fulham, must be fretting.

The Cottagers are in a bad shape, even though they play quite an attacking style. They are without a win since beating Burnley 4-2 in. August and that will continue against the imperious Gunners.

Result: FUL 0-2 ARS

Jibs’ Verdict
FULHAM failed to find the net for the second time in 7 games this season while arsenal go into this game on the back of 8 games winning streak. It should be the 9th straight game for the gunners.

Result: FUL 1-2 ARS

Neelie’s Verdict
Sarri-volution moves to St. Mary’s and with Eden Hazard in brilliant form, while it may not be a walk in the park, the Blues have all the tools to come out with a win.

Result: SOU 0-2 CHE

Jibs’ Verdict
Southampton are struggling, poor defensively and are up against Sarri-ball. Dem go fit hold Hazard?

Result: SOU 0-2 CHE

Neelie’s Verdict
This is the tie of the round, and possibly the most difficult to call because it does look very much balanced. However, Jurgen Klopp has beaten PEO Guardiola more times than any other manager. So, while both teams have not really impressed in recent games, i do think with the game at Anfield, i strongly believe the Reds can indeed take all three (3) points.

Result: LIV 2-1 MCI

Jibs’ Verdict:
Man city na him get better form, Liverpool don do gengen press tire. City should claim a vital away win

Result: LIV 1-2 MCI

There you have it, Vibz Predict for game week eight (8). What do you think? Which of the games do you see something different happening in? Let us know in the comment section.

Have a wonderful weekend ahead!

Three points will be awarded for correct results, while one point goes for a correct outcome. This means there are four points per game, with a maximum of 40points per week.
