Real Madrid suffered a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich in their very first pre-season game in preparation for the new season.
German Bundesliga champions, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid faced off at NGR stadium, Houston Texas in what was Real Madrid’s first International Champions Cup match and Bayern’s second.
Zidane used a starting lineup that had Hazard as the only new arrival;
Courtois in goal. A back four of Carvajal, Varane, Sergio Ramos and Marcelo. Midfield trio of Toni Kroos, Luca Modric and Isco. While Karim Benzema and Marco Asensio joined Eden Hazard ( who wore Jersey number 50) in attack.
As would be expected of a team playing their third pre-season game, Bayern hit the ground running with a goal as early as the fourteenth minute by Corintin Tolisso.
Real Madrid created a good number of goal scoring chances through out the first half but a couple of them they went begging no thanks to Karim Benzema and Manuel Neuer in goal for the Bavarians.
Kovac’s men looked fitter and better and they continued to show superiority with two more goals in the second half from Robert Lewandowski and Gnabry.
It was Real Madrid’s only goal in the match which however stood out and wowed everyone in the game.
New signing and second half substitute, Rodrygo Silva de Goes, on his debut for the Los Blancos, introduced himself with a sumptuous and powerful freekick to make the scoreline more respectable for Real.

The 18-year-old Brazilian sensation signed from Santos won the freekick which had Bayern’s GK, Sevn Ulreich sent off and went on to produce a world class freekick to the delight of those watching.
