Holstein Kiel midfielder Michael Eberwein, while warming up during a German second division game against Bochum on Friday got penalized for touching the ball before it went over the line, even when it was obvious the ball was heading for a goal kick.
His action prompted a VAR check, the referee, Timo Gerach handed the substitute a yellow card and penalty was also awarded against his team.

We’ve been waiting for VAR to add something to the game but this right here isn’t acceptable.
But then, international FA Board (Ifab) rules state if a substitute interferes with play, the referee can take appropriate disciplinary action and restart the game with a direct free-kick or penalty kick.
Do you think VAR is actually destroying the beautiful game of football??
