Tuchel’s team were clinical throughout, holding Porto at arm’s length while notching themselves through Mount and Chilwell.
While Chelsea players, supporters and fans are still jubilating over the two goals advantage, FC Porto head coach has come out to say that his side are not happy over the defeat.
According to Sérgio Conceicao, his side doesn’t deserve to be at a disadvantage in the tie but believe they play games at the highest level.
During his press conference shortly after the game, Conceicao said;
“It was a good game on our part. We are not happy and we are not deserved to be at a disadvantage in the tie. We had personality and character, but we are playing games at the highest level.”
He added that;
“We believe. From what we already knew before and much more after this game.”
Two Porto stars, who couldn’t hold back their feelings also expressed disappointment but believe their team will turn things around in the second leg.
“We were not effective and that dictated the game. But we know that this is not over, we have 90 minutes left. We left with our heads held high, we know that we have a team that can turn around. There are 90 minutes to give everything,” Matheus Uribe said.
While Grujic added;
“We didn’t deserve this. Next week we will be here again. If we scored two goals, we can do it too. Anything is possible for the second leg.”
Porto have an uphill task in the second leg when it comes to budging past this Chelsea side.
Conceicao’s side created chances but none of them were good enough to really worry Mendy.
