Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr has stated that the game against Three Lions of England shows the Nigerian side still have a lot of work to do.
Rohr stated this on Saturday, shortly after the game at Wembley stadium.
“This game shows we still have a lot of work to do to be ready for the World Cup. We have to make the best use of the 2 weeks left before our first game in Russia. It’s time to focus..no distractions,” he said.
The Eagles lost 2-1 to England after a superb header from Cahill as the Chelsea man peeled away from his marker and guided the ball into the top corner. Harry Kane doubled the tally for England 39 minutes into the game while Arsenal winger scored Nigeria’s only goal after former Watford man, Ighalo hit the post and as the Everton keeper tried to get up, Iwobi found the bottom corner with his rebound.
However, Rohr has assured that Wilfried Ndidi, the Leicester midfielder, who has been nursing a hamstring injury, will be ready for their next warm-up game against Czech in Austria on Thursday.
“We followed a plan made for his recovery by Leicester. We didn’t think it was the right game for him to return. But he should be ready for the next game,” the Eagles boss assured.
