The Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph G. Mukan, gave the warning in his good will message contained in a statement issued on his behalf by Command’s spokesman, SP Nnamdi Omoni to Rivers people in commemoration of the nation’s diamond anniversary.
He warned that no effort will be spared at dealing with such individuals and groups who flout his warning.
“He further wishes to sound it loud and clear to anybody or group under whatever guise, planning to stage a protest, or issuing an unlawful order of sit-at- home to immediately shelve the idea, as no effort will be spared in dealing with them”, Omoni said.
The statement further assured that adequate security arrangements have been put in place to cover all coastal communities, border communities, city centres, flash points, key and vulnerable points, noting that patrol vans have been deployed to strategic locations within the Metropolis to strengthen visibility policing among other structures put in place.
He enjoined Rivers people to come out enmasse and celebrate Nigeria at 60, without fear of molestation, while observing all Covid-19 Prevention Protocols.
