Speaking on the rivalry between the both of them, Ronaldo noted that its a huge honour to share the stage with Messi for over 15 years as such has never happened in the history of football.
The 34-year-old, who appeared to be very friendly when seated next to Messi during Champions League draw on Thursday went further to say that he’s not retiring any time soon along side his counterpart, Messi, who is 2 years younger, and urged his critics and haters to watchout for more display from him.
Both players were nominated for UEFA Men’s Player of the Year, neither won the prestigious prize, with Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk instead receiving the individual recognition for his performances over the last 12 months.
Ronaldo said during the Champions League draw;
“It’s great to be a part of the history of football. I am there, and of course, he is as well. I shared this stage with him (Messi) for 15 years. It has never happened before in football. It’s an honour. We have not had dinner together yet, but I hope so in the future.”
