Mason, popularly addressed as the next Frank Lampard signed a five-year deal ahead of travelling with the Blues on their pre-season trip to Japan.
The 20-year-old took to his twitter official account to say;
“Very proud to have signed for an additional 5 years Chelsea FC. I joined the club at the age of six and it feels like home. We have a great team, with so many exciting young players and I can’t wait to get the season started.”
After putting up an excellent performance against St. Patrick on Saturday, where he bagged the opener for the Blues, some Chelsea fans now believe his mentality is top notch and his set pieces are also scintillating.
We all know it was a weaker opposition but Mount was able to show:
• One touch passing
• Ability to link up play
• Eye for attacking passes
• Great with set piece delivery
• Covers a lot of ground
• Goal scoring ability
Well, it looks like the 20-year-old has already grown into a fully-fledged senior footballer after just one season in the Championship.
According to Vince – @Blue_Footy;
Mount looks like he has already grown into a fully-fledged senior footballer after just one season in the Championship. His creativity is excellent, he is comfortable with the one touch football, his finish was wonderfully taken and his energy was right up there.
But one of the big factors was the fact that he was the main man when it came to set-pieces throughout the first half against St. Patrick’s. Taking every corner and the majority of the free-kicks, Mount’s delivery was excellent.
Willian is the usual taker, however his can be very up and down, while Eden Hazard was the back up as well. But Mount is ready to play for Chelsea, you have to believe that. And with Lampard at the helm, you can only feel he is going to get his chances.
“Mason showed what I saw at Derby last season, him and Ross [Barkley]. Also Billy Gilmour in the second half. He has had a brilliant trip and has shown real personality in this trip.”
Do you think Mount is ready for senior footballer at Stamford Bridge??
