The Minister of External Affairs, Lauretta Onochie has stated that, no Nigerian life have been lost in South Africa in the last few days, adding that the videos in circulation on social media are old videos which are unrelated to Nigerians in South Africa.

This is coming in, after four African leaders pulled out of the World Economic Forum, Zambia cancelling their friendly match with South Africa and singer Tiwa Savage cancelling out of the DSTV Delicious Festival to hold in South Africa in September over xenophobic attacks on Nigerians
The statement released by Mrs. Onochie didn’t go down well with Nigerians as some have taken to social media to slam her over the statement and wondering what the difference between her portfolio as Minister of External Affairs and that of Onyeama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs was.

Some South Africans on twitter however concurred with her statement saying its true that no Nigerian life has been lost in the recent xenophobic attacks, blaming the misunderstanding on old and unrelated videos trending on social media.

In the same vain a video of a Nyaope man, telling a different version of how all this xenophobic attacks started, stating it all happen when a South African taxi driver got shot when trying to stop some drug peddlers from selling dope on the street.
With this new dimension of a different story line of what’s happening in South Africa, is this all humbug or is someone out there fuelling a feud, and if so what does it stand to gain?
