The Rivers State Police Command has reported the arrest of officers involved in the alleged kidnapping of a hotel staff member known as Mr. Darlington in Port Harcourt on Friday.

The state’s Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, revealed this during a statement at the Force Headquarters in Port Harcourt on Monday, Hitvibz Rlreport

According to Disu, the victim was abducted while returning from work and taken to a bush in Aluu.

There, under duress, he was coerced into contacting his boss, a hotel owner, as the kidnappers demanded a ransom of one million naira.

The hotel owner, upon being contacted, reached out to a divisional police officer.

The officer, posing as the victim’s father, coordinated with other officers to apprehend the suspects at the location.

Disu emphasised the importance of the victim stepping forward to officially report the incident, aiding in the ongoing investigation.

The implicated suspects are from the Borokiri Police Division in Port Harcourt.
