The event also addressed the troubling situations in the state caused by political bitterness, Hitvibz reports.

Eze Chike Amadi expressed gratitude to God and the Executive Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency, Siminalayi Fubara, for his appointment as Chairman.

He acknowledged that he was not the only qualified candidate among the 1st Class monarchs but humbly accepted the leadership role.

The new chairman emphasised the Council’s priority on the welfare of its members and pledged to harness the collective knowledge and opinions of his colleagues to move the Council forward.

He announced that the Governor has initiated efforts to provide official vehicles to all recognised Traditional Rulers in the state, which will be achieved in a few weeks.

Eze Chike Amadi outlined his administration’s objectives, including promoting inter-kingdom visitation, fostering inter-tribal unity, and building bridges of peace in the state.

He also committed to upholding existing policies on members’ welfare and staff, strengthening ties with neighbouring states for regional peace, and ensuring quality representation at the national level.

The Chairman emphasised that the Council will maintain its non-partisan stance but will not hesitate to call politicians to order when necessary.

He invited the public to visit the Council’s Secretariat to explore ways to contribute to the state’s and country’s development.
