A dark cloud has descended upon Kano State as tragedy struck its returning heroes, a contingent making their way home from the Gateway 2024.
The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Kano State Chapter, has announced the devastating loss of 19 individuals in a ghastly auto crash involving the Kano Contingent returning from the National Sports Festival, Hitvibz reports.
Heartbreak as Kano Contingent Faces Tragic Return
The accident, which occurred in Dakstalle town, roughly 50 kilometres from Kano, claimed the lives of athletes, journalists, medical personnel, and administrators – all part of the Kano State delegation to the National Sports Festival.
This horrific incident has sent waves of grief and shock throughout the state, as communities grapple with the sudden loss of these talented individuals.
