In a heartening move, Borno Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has demonstrated his commitment to the welfare of the 1,215 youth corp members serving in his state, donating 100 bags of rice, 100kg of beans, Cows to the NYSC members.
Governor Zulum’s Generosity Shines: N36.4 Million Palliative Boost for Youth Corp Members
Addressing them during his visit to the NYSC orientation camp, the governor announced the allocation of N36.4 million as palliatives to support these dedicated young individuals.
A significant sum of N30,000 will be provided to each corper, ensuring a financial boost during their three-week orientation camping in the state.
This benevolent gesture comes as a welcome relief, recognizing the challenges that the youth face during their service year.
Arriving just four days after attending the swearing-in ceremony of the youth corp members, he conveyed his genuine concern for their well-being.
His presence added a touch of inspiration to their national journey.
As part of this comprehensive support package, the governor has also allocated essential provisions for a special meal for the corps members.
A hundred bags of rice, ten cows, ten bags of 100 kg beans, and ten gallons of cooking oil have been made available.
This gesture not only addresses their basic needs but also acknowledges their contribution to the state.
Expressing his intentions, Governor Zulum highlighted,
“We are extending these palliatives to members of the National Youth Service Corps as a gesture of appreciation.”
He explained, “Upon sharing your bank details with us, the sum of N30,000 will be promptly credited to your accounts.“
Governor Zulum’s guidance to the youth corp members was equally profound. Encouraging them to abide by camp regulations, he emphasized the importance of harmonious coexistence and nurturing peace.
“Be dedicated and loyal to constituted authorities,” he urged them, emphasizing the value of unity in building a prosperous Nigeria.
Gratitude was also expressed towards the Federal Government for its efforts in enhancing security, which enabled the revival of the NYSC orientation camp in Maiduguri after a 13-year hiatus.
