Concerned indigenes of Bonny Local Government Area are demanding to know where one of the three gunboats donated to the Nigerian Navy by the Rivers State government to aid in the fight against sea pirates and illicit oil bunkering in the area has gone missing.

Concerned indigenes of Bonny demand whereabouts of gunboatDestiny Hart, a spokesman for the group, claimed one of the gunboats’ whereabouts are unclear three months after the state governor released them.

Mr. Hart also urged the monarch of Bonny and Rodaford Longjohn, the Commissioner for Local Government Affairs, to ensure the gunboat’s release.

Only two of the three gunboats were supplied by the state government, according to Officer Commanding, Marine Police Bonny, Solomon Ade.

According to Iginia Richard, the Navy PRO in Rivers State, any concerns involving the gunboats should be channeled accordingly.
