Timi Dakolo, Nigerian sensational singer, has expressed concern about the increase in black soot in Port Harcourt, the Rivers state capital.
The black soot was initially seen in 2016, in sections of Port Harcourt and some other local government areas such as Eleme, Oyigbo, Ikwere, and Obio/akpor, which were attributed on illicit bunkering and gas flaring.
The artist took to Instagram page on Monday to share photographs of people’s feet, palms, and hands covered in black dust and urged them to speak up.
“This is not funny!!! This is not fair. This is deep wickedness. The devastating effect of this soot will be felt for years to come ,so let’s not sit back and keep quiet. It is Our port harcourt. Dear port harcourt people. Them no Dey manage bad thing. We must do something NOW!!! @unitednations @unep HELP,” he wrote.
