The Rivers State Government has taken a bold step to combat unemployment and youth restiveness by signing a landmark agreement with Del-York Creative Academy.

The Commissioner for Education, Dr. Ovy Chinedum Chukwuma, announced the five-year partnership during a brief signing ceremony in Port Harcourt.
The agreement, signed by the Commissioners for Education and Justice, will provide comprehensive training in digital and creative industries to boost employment prospects.
Dr. Chukwuma emphasised that the initiative is expected to empower over 10,000 youths, making them competitive in both local and international job markets.
He expressed confidence that the training program will significantly reduce unemployment and curb social challenges among the youth.
“When the training begins, unemployment and youth restiveness will become a thing of the past in the state,” Dr. Chukwuma stated, acknowledging Governor Siminalayi Fubara for his visionary leadership in driving the initiative.
Del-York Creative Academy’s Commitment to Youth Empowerment
Mr. Ikenna Oguike, Chief Operating Officer of Del-York Creative Academy, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to providing high-quality training in globally sought-after skills.
He highlighted that the academy, known for its international reputation, will equip participants with the expertise needed to thrive in various sectors of the creative economy.
He commended the Rivers State Government for prioritising youth development and acknowledged the efforts of the commissioners for education and justice in facilitating the agreement.
