Women, youths, and individuals with disabilities have had their nomination fees slashed by half by the All Progressives Grand Alliance Party (APGA).
According to the party, this would allow them to run for any seat in the general elections in 2023. It went on to say that the development was also beneficial to people with disabilities.
The Ebonyi state chairman of the APGA, Ricky Okorouka, disclosed this during the party’s meeting with ward chairmen in Uburu, Ohaozara Local Government Area, saying the reduction is made from the national to encourage women, noting that the party has been receiving new members from the 171 wards of Ebonyi.
He said that the party has gained over 90,000 new members so far, and reaffirmed the party’s willingness to usurp power from the state’s ruling party.
“Yes, our party is gender sensitive. We have already given 50 per cent discount of our nomination form and expression of interest for women, youth as well as people with disability. The reduction is made from the national and this is the way we encourage women and we have been receiving new members from the 171 wards of Ebonyi,“ he said.
