Pastor Sylvanus Toby, the principal of Community Secondary School, OkuruAma, in the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, has been arraigned in court with two charges of conspiracy and criminality.Principal arraigned in court on two counts of conspiracy, criminality

Pastor Toby, the Okuru-Ama Community Development Committee Chairman, Siyeofori Godspower, and others are accused of assaulting Blessing Oba, a teacher at the school, for her remark about students paying WAEC fees.

The two defendants are also accused of threatening to kill the claimant after snatching her phone worth N82,000, her ATM card, and her purse worth N5000..

After hearing the arguments of the lawyers for the prosecution and defense teams, Chief Magistrate Amadi Nna granted the accused bail in the amount of N300,000.

According to the charge sheet seen by our correspondent, the Pastor is accused of hiring the CDC Chairman and others to assault the teacher after she complained about the Principal collecting WAEC fees despite the state government’s warnings against it.
