Mr. Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party, has guaranteed Nigerians that if he is elected president in 2023, he will work to transform the nation.

Peter Obi asserted that he stands for Nigeria’s future and has the necessary knowledge to change the course of the nation. He also stated that he will change Nigeria and urged Nigerians to hold him accountable if he doesn’t.

Mr. Peter Obi made this statement on Thursday at the official opening of the Nkpolu-Oroworukwo flyover, the ninth one that Governor Wike’s administration has so far built and finished.

The former Anambra state governor commended Governor Wike for having the goodwill to invite him to commission the Nkpolu-Oroworukwo flyover for the public to use.

“Nobody in this country can doubt your performance. Anybody who does so, does not admit what is good. You have worked for your people, you have worked for Nigeria and you have done everything anybody could achieve. Most importantly, you have remained consistently consistent in positions you have taken.” – he said.

Peter Obi added that;

“What is lacking in our country today is character, competence and capacity. In all these you have shown it as a State governor.”

18 contenders are preparing to run for president in the 2023 election, but Obi noted that Nigerians are seeking for persons with integrity, competence, and capacity—including those who have taken advantage of prior opportunities to serve the country profitably.

“I assure you of our commitment to build a better Nigeria. our past will not be our future. Those people are our past. I and Datti (Baba-Ahmed) represent the future of Nigeria. And I have told Nigerians, hold me responsible. I know what it takes to turn around this country. I will not give excuse. I will change Nigeria.”

Meanwhile, the Rivers state governor, Nyesom Wike has offered to support Mr. Peter Obi logistically whenever he comes to the State for his presidential campaign.

Governor Wike also encouraged the Labour Party’s presidential candidate to disregard jealous individuals from his home State who are out to derail his campaign for the office.
