Oyigbo flood relief materials don finally reach residents wey flood affect, as the Local Government Chairman, Hon. (Eld.) Okechukwu Akara Nwaogu, Ph.D, DSSRS, personally monitor how dem dey share the items for the council secretariat.

Dem do the sharing exercise on Wednesday, September 30, under the supervision of the Flood Management and Mitigation Committee, following instruction from the people wey provide the relief materials — Rivers State Government and the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), na weytin Hitvibz dey yan be dat.

Oyigbo Flood Relief Materials Don Give Affected Families Some Relief

For residents wey flood don really put through serious wahala, the relief materials come at the right time as dem share different important things to families wey need help.

The items wey people receive include bags of rice and beans, kitchen utensils, mattresses, pillows, gallons of red oil and groundnut oil, toiletries, buckets, blankets, mosquito nets and cartons of Indomie noodles, among other things wey families fit need for house.

The way dem arrange and carry out the sharing also make plenty of beneficiaries happy, as some residents praise the process and say everything go smoothly.

Some of the flood victims use the opportunity thank the Rivers State Government and NEMA for remembering dem and coming to their aid when things hard for them.

Akara Nwaogu Want More Help for Oyigbo Flood Victims

As Akara Nwaogu monitor the exercise, the council boss appreciate the donors for stepping in at the time wey residents need help most.

He also appeal make the support no stop for the relief materials alone, especially for families wey still dey battle with the damage and problems wey the flood leave behind.

According to the council chairman, the needs of the affected families no go just disappear because dem don receive relief materials, especially now wey many residents dey enter the recovery stage after the flood.

He assure residents say his administration go continue to stand with vulnerable families and make sure the relief efforts genuinely help people wey the disaster affect.

Akara Nwaogu also repeat the council’s commitment to continue fighting the flooding problems wey dey affect different parts of Oyigbo while helping residents recover from the impact.
