The Plateau State Police Command has apprehended Doctor Noah Kekere, a medical practitioner, on allegations of unlawfully removing one of Kehinde Kamal’s kidney in Jos, the state capital.
DSP Alfred Alabo, the Command’s spokesperson, disclosed this during a press briefing on Friday, confirming that a thorough investigation into the matter is now underway.
The incident came to light when Alhaji Kamal, a local businessman in Jos, reported that Dr. Noah Kekere had extracted one of his wife’s kidneys during a surgical procedure back in 2018.
Unfortunately, this surgery had left Kehinde Kamal in severe and ongoing pain for the past five years.
Kamal recounted that in January 2018, his wife complained of abdominal discomfort, prompting their visit to Dr. Kekere’s clinic in the Nasarawa Gwong area of Jos North Local Government.
The doctor diagnosed her with a ruptured appendicitis that necessitated immediate surgery.
The Kamal family diligently paid for all prescribed medications and hospital bills as instructed by the hospital management before the surgery took place.
However, by the end of August, the pain had escalated to unbearable levels. Subsequently, they sought a second opinion at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUTH), where medical experts confirmed the shocking revelation – one of Kehinde’s kidneys was missing.
In search of answers and solutions, the Kamals consulted a specialist at a private hospital in Jos, who reiterated the distressing news: Kehinde had indeed undergone a kidney removal surgery.

The family promptly reported the matter to the Nasarawa Gwong Police, leading to Dr. Kekere’s initial arrest.
Subsequently, the case was transferred to the State Commissioner of Police.
Kamal’s primary desire is to secure justice for his wife and bring attention to the unfortunate situation she has endured due to Dr. Kekere’s alleged unprofessional conduct.
