The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Rivers State received scores of All Progressives Congress (APC), African Action Congress (AAC) and Accord party members into the party.
The decampees were received with thousands of their supporters by the state Governor, Nyesom Wike at the Isaac Boro Park in Port Harcourt.
Speaking at the event, Governor Wike described the defections as a final mop-up of APC and other political parties to the PDP.
He is optimistic that the PDP will produce the next Governor of Rivers State.
