Senator Babafemi Ojudu, the President’s Special Adviser on Political Matters, has revealed that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will declare his interest in running for president in 2023 once the All Progressives Congress party, APC, has elected its executives.
Senator Ojudu stated this on Tuesday during a familiarisation visit by the Osinbajo Grassroots Mobilization Vanguard.
Hon. John Elemi, the group’s Director General, led the delegation, and the meeting began with an overview of the organization’s objective, vision, and rationale for selecting Prof Yemi Osinbajo as her Aspirant.
The Director on his opening remark said;
“We believe Osinbajo can breath new life to our nation irrespective of tribe, colour and religion. Today this delegation seek answers to some pondering questions in the minds of Nigerians over the country. Today we have come to lend our voice and urge Prof Yemi Osinbajo to come out and run for the president of Nigeria.”
Mrs Fatima, the group’s female leader, described Osinbajo as the most sellable and reliant presidential candidate Nigeria has ever had, promising to mobilise women throughout the 36 states in support of Osinbajo.
Responding to the questions raise by the group, the SA to the president on political matters said;
“Only God can stop Prof Yemi Osinbajo Aspiration, Yemi is very passionate about this country. People like Osinbajo come once in every generation and this is our generation time to have Nigeria fix. The masquerade that dance first become a spectator when the real masquerade comes out, Osinbajo is coming.”
Senator Ojudu encouraged the group to be extremely deliberate in whatever they do, particularly in terms of their time and resources sacrificed; it is not a waste of effort.
“The vice president will declare once the party has executives,” he noted.
Finally, he pledged his office’s continued support and urged the group to focus on grassroots issues rather than just assembling Abuja residents.
The visit ended with a group photo with the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, the Director of Contact and Monitoring for the Osinbajo Support Group, and the Special Adviser to the President on Community.
