A quiet but powerful gesture unfolded in Egi Kingdom as the Dr. Andrew A. Igwe Care Foundation embarked on a remarkable journey to honor the oldest men and women in all 16 communities.
On March 31, 2025, the foundation, led by its CEO and founder, Dr. Andrew A. Igwe, reached out with gifts and support, leaving an unforgettable mark on the hearts of the Egi Elders, Hitvibz reports.
A Gesture of Love: Foundation Visits Egi’s Oldest Citizens
In line with its mission of caring for the less privileged, the foundation visited the most elderly male and female in each community, bearing gifts of toiletries, foodstuffs, and cash.
The act of kindness resonated deeply, with recipients showering the team with blessings and heartfelt appreciation.
Eld. Blacky Isabu, the eldest man in Erema community, expressed his joy, noting that he once felt forgotten by society.
However, this visit—following a similar one in December 2023—restored his hope, reminding him that he still had “children” who cared.
Elder Nwobi of Itu Community, initially surprised, even asked if the visit was government-sponsored.
Learning that it wasn’t, he offered profound prayers for the foundation’s continued success.
Rain of Blessings: The Outreach That Couldn’t Be Stopped
In Umu Obor zone, the visit took on an even deeper significance as unexpected rain fell.
But instead of halting the journey, the rain energised the team, symbolising the showers of blessings their efforts were bringing to the Egi Elders.
From Erema to Akabuka, the smiles and gratitude on the elders’ faces made every step of the journey worthwhile.
As the foundation continues its mission, the impact of this outreach serves as a powerful reminder: caring for the elderly isn’t just an act of kindness—it’s a celebration of life and legacy.
