In a move that has sparked widespread jubilation, Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, has approved a N100,000 Christmas bonus for civil servants, public servants, and pensioners in the state.
This generous gesture aims to ensure a joyous festive season for all eligible workers, adding to the growing excitement around the yuletide celebrations, Hitvibz reports.
A first for Pensioners: N100k Christmas Bonus for all Civil and Public Servants
On December 23, 2024, Governor Fubara made the announcement, revealing that the bonus would be distributed across various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies.
This is the second year in a row that workers in Rivers State will receive such a substantial Christmas bonus, which is notably above the national minimum wage.
However, this year marks a historic moment, as pensioners will also benefit from the bonus for the first time.
Governor Fubara’s “Rivers first” commitment
This initiative is part of Governor Fubara’s “Rivers First” policy, designed to prioritise the welfare of the state workers, public servants, and pensioners.
By ensuring their happiness during the festive season, the Governor hopes to strengthen the economic well-being of the state and improve the quality of life for its workers.
With the immediate implementation of the N100,000 December bonus, Rivers State’s civil servants, public servants, and pensioners can now look forward to a more fulfilling holiday season.
