This initiative follows closely after Rivers State Governor, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, approved a ₦100,000 Christmas bonus for civil servants, public servants, and pensioners across the state.

By aligning with the governor’s example, Dr. Okere has reaffirmed his dedication to supporting Oyigbo’s workforce while strengthening their trust in his administration.

Staff morale and welfare take centre stage

Beyond financial relief, the bonus payment is a strategic move to inspire loyalty and enhance productivity among Oyigbo council staff.

It reflects Dr. Okere’s broader vision for fostering a motivated and efficient local government workforce.
