Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has congratulated Christians on Easter, encouraging them to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ by making sacrifices that will advance the course of progress.
Governor Wike said in an Easter message signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebiri, that Easter depicts Jesus Christ’s ultimate sacrifice to save mankind, and that Christians must consider the welfare of others as individuals.
As they ponder on the values of Good Friday and Easter Celebration, he urged the people of Rivers State to re-dedicate themselves to the service of the state.
Governor Wike pledged to the people of Rivers State that he will continue to make sacrifices for the state and Nigeria as a whole, protect the country’s interests, and guarantee that the people are always treated fairly.
Easter, he remarked, is a time for new beginnings, forgiveness, love, and camaraderie. As everyone works to deepen the culture of authentic Christianity, the governor asked the wealthy to reach out to the less privileged.
Governor Wike wished the people of the state a Happy Easter and assured them of their safety before, during, and after the festivities.
