Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, is demanding for the prosecution of Chibuike Amaechi, the Minister of Transport, and Fidet Okhiria, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, for carelessness in the attack on the Abuja-Kaduna bound train.
Falana accused the corporation and the minister of not taking necessary precautions to prevent the current occurrence in a statement released on Monday.
Mr Falana requested that the President instruct the Inspector General to investigate and prosecute them for criminal negligence.
Both of them, he said, should not be permitted to continue endangering train passengers throughout the country.
He claims that the corporation and the ministry are legally obligated to pay for the care of people hurt in the incident.
He also questioned the NRC’s claim that train ticket sales are free of fraud.
