Governor Siminalayi Fubara has officially declared Rivers State as one of the safest and most peaceful states in Nigeria.
The announcement came during a courtesy call by the leadership of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) at the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Governor Fubara emphasized the state’s conducive environment for business and affirmed his administration’s commitment to providing security and a favorable climate for residents and businesses.
In his address, Governor Fubara expressed gratitude to CAN for their unwavering support to the previous administration and urged the association to continue partnering with the new government to build upon the achievements of the state.
He emphasized that Rivers State is a Christian state and appreciated CAN’s role in promoting peace and security through prayers.
The Governor called upon CAN to be constructive in their criticisms and refrain from using the pulpit as a platform for casting aspersions on the government.
He assured CAN that their requests, particularly regarding office space and mobility, would receive due consideration.
Highlighting the successful political transition in Rivers State, Governor Fubara addressed skeptics who doubted the state’s ability to maintain peace.
He urged all stakeholders to collaborate in solidifying the existing peace and security, while assuring the people of the administration’s commitment to implementing projects that will positively impact their lives.
Most Rev D. B Kaladokubo, Chairman of CAN in Rivers State, led the association on the courtesy visit to felicitate with Governor Fubara on his victory and emergence as the Governor of Rivers State.
Rev Kaladokubo commended the Governor’s track record and expressed confidence in his ability to address the security situation, create a favorable environment for investors, and foster agricultural and commercial activities for all residents.
During the visit, special prayers were offered for Governor Fubara and his deputy, Prof. Mrs. Ngozi Ordu, to succeed in their mandate of running the affairs of Rivers State.
