Governor of Rivers State Nyesom Wike has formally appointed over fourteen thousand advisers for various political units in the state.
According to a statement from Kelvin Ebiri, Governor Wike’s Special Assistant on Media, the advisers will be crucial to the administration.
The statement further reveals that the state governor also selected 319 ward liaison officers in addition to the 14,000 advisers. It stated that the appointments are effective right away.
The full statement reads;
“The Rivers State governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has appointed 14,000 (fourteen thousand) advisers for various political units in the State.
The governor, in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Kelvin Ebiri on Tuesday, said the advisers will play a pivotal role in the administration.
In addition to the 14,000 advisers, Governor Wike has also appointed 319 Ward Liaison Officers and 40 Local Government Area Liaison Officers. The appointments are with immediate effect.”
Recall that in March, Governor Wike declared that after nearly completing all of its pledges to the state, his administration is now prepared to reward those who diligently worked with him.
He noted that the moment has come to engage in stomach infrastructural politics.
