The Labour Party has fired a strong warning shot at Peter Obi, giving him just 48 hours to resign or risk being labelled a desperate politician misleading Nigerians.

In a sharp statement, the Party made it clear that Obi’s new coalition has no place for genuine change, Hitvibz reports.

The Party said that Obi must formally step down from the party after choosing to join a coalition of what they called recycled politicians.

According to the Party’s spokesperson Obiora Ifoh, the coalition is filled with old power players with no real plan to build a new Nigeria.

The Labour Party stressed it will not tolerate members with double loyalty, warning that Obi’s meetings to lure loyal members away have failed.

We are aware of several nocturnal meetings between Peter Obi and some of our members, lobbying them to join him in his new party. We’re also aware that a number of them have refused to defect with him,” the party said.

Nearly 70% of Nigeria’s population are youths hungry for fresh leadership, not recycled politics, the party added.
